Open Airplane Day

The Hagerstown Aviation Museum will host an Open Airplane Day and the EAA (Experimental
Aircraft Association) Young Eagle flights on Saturday October 7th from 9AM until 4PM in our
newly renovated Dome Hangar.
This will be the final open event of the season and the renovations of the Dome Hangar near
completion and we prepare for the Grand Opening of the museum building to the public.
This will be an opportunity to see the recent renovations of the original, 1943 Fairchild test
flight hangar. The museum’s newly acquired RC-26B Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and
Reconnaissance airplane and our iconic “Dustoff” Huey UH-1V air ambulance helicopter will be
on display.
Weather permitting, the museum’s two PT-19 WW II trainers will be available for experience
flights.
The museum, housed in part of the former Fairchild Aircraft facility, is adjacent to the
Hagerstown Regional Airport.
Entry to the event will be through the Basore Drive gate; signs will be posted to guide
attendees.
A $5 entry donation is suggested.
