Second Annual 7th Grade Career Exploration Day: Washington County Public Schools

June 6, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

OnTrack Washington County, Inc. (a collective impact, cradle to career initiative), in partnership with the Washington County Public Schools (WCPS), the Greater Hagerstown Committee, Inc., the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, Hagerstown Community College, and the Washington County Public Schools Education Foundation, will be hosting a Second Annual 7th Grade Career Exploration Day on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Hagerstown Community College. More the 70 presenters, representing a cross-section of Washington County businesses and employers, will be speaking to more than 1,600 WCPS 7th graders, who will each receive a drawstring bag imprinted with the winning career exploration day logo designed by a student at Western Heights Middle School.

As the workplace landscape changes and demand for skilled workers grows, it is imperative that we expose students to occupations and career opportunities available in our region. By connecting students with local employers through career day presentations, we hope to ignite student interest and share the necessary coursework, training, certificates, and/or experiences required for employment in various fields and professions.
Funding for the event provided by Bushey Feight Morin Architects Inc.; Callas Contractors, LLC; Central Precision; Meritus Health; and SEK, CPAs & Advisors
